I am looking for some advice on the twin ram system. I am looking to put trim tilt on my 84' evinrude and it is the dual ram system. I am debating going with the CMC 130 unit but that is a lot of money. The twin ram I can pick one up for about 350$ used. Is it worth it for these old systems if I rebuild it or not. I go to canada every year fishing and the motor takes some abuse. Thanks for all the help, ive been a long time reader and this is my first time posting, appreciate any help.

Hello I would first make sure the twin ram is a tilt and trim I know some of the older ones were just tilt. I would also make sure you get all the controls with it otherwise make sure you figure that and the rebuild into the final cost. I just checked ebay cmc pt 130 $579 new with the relays, switch and wiring harness my 2 cents I would go new.

I have no experience with the cmc 130 is it a good unit and will it last under some harsh conditions. I have researched it but have not had actual hands on the unit.

I would think its a very good unit I know they hold there value used costs almost as much as new. I would think its as good as a factory unit and it has warranty it's not like they reinvented the wheel it's tilt and trim.

$350 sounds steep for a used unit. I would do some shopping on Xbay.
