I have an 84 johnson 50hp that is usually a great runner. I had it out tonight and it just wouldnt idle well and would die when in gear. Was getting good fuel, was suspecting fire. Motor has a new cd2 as of this spring and one new coil. When I got home tonight I threw the muffs on and started up. I noticed the bottom coil (which i suspect might be the original) was arcing at ground. Does anyone suppose I might just need a new coil pack? Also I might note, the day before I did pull the plugs out and cleaned them off. I had probably ran a dozen tanks of fuel on those plugs and just thought I would check to see if they still looked good. I checked my conncetions, I don't think anything was loose. The gap looked good as well. All opinions would be appreciated thanks!
