hello guys.anyone know what compression my suzuki DT30 should be ? its 1983 2 stroke 2 cylinder NOT OIL INJECTION. its the silver coloured model with blue decals if that helps.also plug gap and make etc will help. this little motor runs fantastic but a good tune might help it stay good. ive given it a dose of power tune and that just made a big cloud of smoke so must have helped a bit. ive always kept it at 50-1 mix (sometimes a bit richer but never leaner). also im gonna put this on the back of a 17 foot picton and hopefully find it a brother so ill have twins. i like the idea of making a bracket to take the twins. if i make bracket it will have a set back of around 12-14 inches so engines can tilt easily. will i have to raise the engines or just keep level with keel of boat. also should i get counter rotating props or will normal be ok. any help will be good as my v4 johnson looks dead and cant afford another one. so this is a lot of info so i hope to get a few ideas from you people. please any info will help phill

Depending on your guage and technique the compression could be anywhere from 90psi to 140psi, P&J.

The important value is the difference between the cylinders, which should be 15% or less.

With twins on a 14" setback you will want the AV plates about 3" above the bottom immediately in front of the engines.

Good luck. :)

thanks jb any idea how far apart would be best for engines, i was thinking about 16-18 inches from centre lines would that be about right or too much or too little.
