I recently got this boat from my father in law and I want to make it a little bass boat. I want to put some flooring, seats and an little outboard. So the question is, does anyone know the weight limit when dry and what size outboard can the transom hold?
I have look everywhere for this info and can not find it. I know the years for the same boat is 1979-1984.

Should be a capacity plate on the transom

However on a 12 foot boat, i would expect about 350# total capacity

hp would be 10hp or less

Thank you for the response. So there is a plate but whoever painted the boat, plated over the plate. :-( also 350lbs? I had probably 575 in that boat on the lake. I am trying verify since I am putting flooring in.

if you want more capacity, you will most likely need a bigger boat.

the small 12' is intended for a guy to put on his roof with a 5-10hp motor he has in the back seat. maybe with his wife along.

adding the floor detracts from the capacity.

use a heat gun to soften what ever paint they applied over the tag and carefully remove.

I would get it wet and just see if you can even stand up in it as it is.

That is a pretty small hull, I had a 12: jon boat and just to stand up in the thing required Wallenda type skill to not fall in.

Also the weight limit is pretty low, by the time you subtract yourself, motor, gas, battery and gear there really isn't much left.
