My timing light blinks on and off when I checking the timing, It does this on all wires.
The motor drives all day at 5100 rpm's so maybe I'm beating a dead horse here. I want to build a DVA adapter so I can test the stator. Can someone please help me.
Scott

Aren't timing lights supposed to blink on and off?

Set your voltmeter to AC and check the stator. Multiply the reading by 1.414 and you will be real close.

I know about the pulse but my situation is that it will be off for a good second, then start blinking again. Its not consistant, I should of made it more clear sorry. And when it goes out Its almost lie I can see the motor shake, heck just barely enough to see. but like I said, I sould'nt be worried If I get 5100 rpms all day. I should chos emy battles.

your right to check it out now. Misfires at 5100 rpm, if they are bad enough can bust pistons and rod bearings up. Make sure your rig is right by testing. Its a good idea.
