Take a piece of flexible wire and poke it up into the pee hole. I have had mud wasps build a mud nest in mine and plugged it up. If that doesn't help, take off the thermostat cover, check the t-stat, and poke the wire in the water ports. If those two things don't help, you'll probably need to remove the lower unit again and rig a garden hose to the copper feed line and blast some water up through the motor (or you can use compressed air). Make sure you are re-connecting the water feed tube into the impeller housing correctly when you re-install the lower unit.

Yep the advice is:

You need to provide more information before any of us can help you.

There are several gaskets on an outboard motor, we have no idea if it was working properly before you did any work to it, or why you did work to it for that matter. If you changed the water pump assembly (housing, impeller, gaskets) then you need to be sure that you installed it properly, put the plate in properly, and made sure to put the key in.

Then you also need to be sure that you properly aligned the tube.

We'll start there.

If you ran it and got it good and hot, then you may have to replace the thermostat, and you may have melted the plastic pressure relief valves.....if a piece of those breaks off an lodges in a water passage somewhere then you need to find it.

Also check the rubber hose going to the telltale as well as the plastic elbow that the hose attaches to on the motor.
