Hello,
I am having trouble finding the model # on this engine. It is a 1983 Johnson 150 HP motor with 4 plugs. I Can't find the model # anywhere on the engine. The serial # is J5861587. Would anyone be able to tell me what motor this is to ensure I am ordering the right parts for this engine. Thanks so much for your help.

Hello Mikesea,
You are correct. My friend just bought this boat and The title on boat and motor stated that it was a 1983 Johnson 150 HP. We were looking at the motor closer and found out that it really is an Evinrude 135HP and we think it is a 1976 or 1973? Still looking.

I'm not sure why the title stated the other motor. The boat is a 1978 Skeeter Wrangler. They may have switched out motors since the last time it was licensed? Thanks for the information.

Hi tashasdaddy and mikesea
Thanks for the information. We were going by what the title on the boat said but found out that the actual motor is different than what was stated on the title. Like J said, it is actually an Evinrude 135HP.
