I have a glastron ssv 163 from 1984 with the reference engine.

My problem is that the control box works very, very hard. In reverse mode the engine only increase the rpm a little, although the control this pushing until the bottom.

I guess that is a problem with the cables, but i don´t know how to change this.

I have tried to remove the control box to check it, but after remove the two screws of the control, I can't disassemble nothing more. It seems to be mada in only one piece. My control box is a OMC with power trim and cut off key.

Is very similar that the OMC control box # 175943 but in white color.

Do you somebody know if is possible disassemble and check into the control box?

How can I change the cables?

Thanks for the replies
Fernando

Alcfer.... Remove the allen screw that retains the control handle. Insert a long bolt in place of the allen screw, then rap it with a hammer to loosen and remove the control handle.

Remove the large philip screws that you see in the back portion of the control box. The unit can then be seperated.
