I just bought a 15 whaler with an 83 Evinrude 70 hp on it. It seems to idle and run fine for 30 or so minutes, but once it warms up it starts to bog down at WOT...once this happens it won't idle without dying and won't start unless rpms are up. Not sure if anyone has some insight or a similar problem...would love your comments. Also, just talked with the mechanic who had worked on it and he said he just rebuilt the carbs and they were clean. I just put new plugs in and I'm gonna replace the primer bulb because it doesn't seem to keep any pressure. I'll try to eliminate those as a possibility first.

The primer bulb will not stay firm when the engine is running.
Have you checked the spark when the engine starts to act up? Sometimes an igniton component will fail when it gets warm.

The primer bulb doesn't stay hard when I prime it on a cold start. Think I found the problem...#1 carb is flposing when I prime the bulb, hence the bulb not staying firm. Must be some trash or something in the bowl since it was just rebuilt. I'll check it out and keep y'all posted
