It's stalling and idling very rough. WOT and
cruising speed are fine, but it fights us to
start and stalls after being in idle for a
couple seconds. Very annoying around docks and
when trailering.

We just had the carbs rebuilt, everything
cleaned up and greased, plugs changed, new water
pump and impeller, etc, etc... and it's running
like crap.

Of course it was running great at the service
place because they hook up their own fuel supply.

So now I'm stuck having run it on the older fuel
about 10-12 times now. (he put OMC 2+4
conditioner in and tested for water... said the
fuel was passable, but probably not perfect).

We've since filled up and it's running even
rougher. The fuel that he conditioned and said
was okay was probably in the boat for 4-5 years
before we got the boat... so I'm sure the tank
is full of nasties I imagine.

Question is, short of pulling the whole top off
and replacing/cleaning the fuel tank, what else
can be done? Or is that probably the best thing
to do in this situation?

I'm going to check the fuel filters on the two
fuel pumps and the guy that serviced it
recommended checking the bowls of the carbs or
something to that effect for contamination.
Maybe run some of that Seafoam stuff through it
to clean the engine out?

I'd bring it back to him, but he's in FL and I'm
in SC and he only serviced the motor... it ran
great when hooked up to his fresh fuel supply.
