Can anyone tell me if there is usually a little play in the drive shaft after the water pump is removed?

The driveshaft bearing is a cone-shaped one. Depending on what year of the gearcase, whether it has a preload pin, the bearing play is controlled in several ways. If the play is small, forgetaboutit
