1982 Johnson 90hp manual tilt

I have this motor that came on a 18' Starcraft SS I bought a while ago. The motor has never had the trail/tilt lock and release. The previous owner had a string tied to the lock that I need to pull to release the lock for raiseing the motor. I bought all the parts but I just can't figure how everything connects. The factory parts diagram is not much help and difficult to follow. I am hoping someone out there has this motor or the 115 and could take and post some pics for me to see how all this connects. The starboard side is what is confusing to me. The control knob/lever is on the port side. The linkage that lifts the lock is on the starboard side. Some close up pics of a working unit from both sides could really help me.

not what you are looking for but power tilt and trim would make a huge performance difference. new after market cmc add on around $500(little steep), maybe even be able to find a used cmc.

just a thought.

Thanks...I looked into that ...An OMC complete kit is nearly $1300 and comes with all the stuff needed for an add on ...saw a NIB one on ebay for $850. Usewd cyliders alone sell for over 300 and thah you still the rest of the stuff. At that price I might be better off selling this engine and buying an newer one with power t&t.
