ebay.
Here's one that should be fine with a little clean-up. Probably more.
Many peeps parting out motors don't bother listing it. They rarely go bad and are heavy to ship.
If see your vintage being parted out, just ask the seller.

Good luck

Thanks; it didn't just go bad. I put new points condensor in it left to do something else came back put it together and didn't tighten down the flywheel nut. It rattled really load drove back to the dock real slow looked inside; the nut wasn't tight it shaved off the key that fits onto the crankshaft slot was flying around on top and I cracked the flywheel all the way accross the bottom where it fits down upon the shaft.
I may check EBAY see if I can find one for parts or just buy trhe flywheel I found on-line. This has been one great engine till I messed it up Forgetting to tighten the nut down and then forgetting to check it all first befor I put the cover back on.
thanks again; charlie"D"

Whats up Richmond? I am in Charlottesville. Just be glad that the flywheel didnt come spinning off!! I will keep my eyes peeled for a 9.9 parts motor around here. I think I saw one in Harrisonburg last week for a decent price......

There are lots of awesome lakes and ponds around here. We catch nice size crappie and bass all season long. I also like doing some striper fishing in lake anna. The trout here are stocked, so when season is in it can be very hard to find a quiet spot where there arent fist fights over the fishing hole. To be honest with you most of my trophy fish are caught down your way, right out of Hopewell!

Huh? No points in an 82. 74-76.
Sorry I didn't supply the ebay item. It was $20 + $12.
Let's try to confirm what you have there.

Re: 1982 9.9 hrse Evinrude/flywheel

Hi You're exactly right: Evinrude 9.9 hrse. model:E10selons:Serial:E0045538: This Is all I have written down will look later today to see if there are any more numbers on it thoough I think this is all I've used to get my new points and condensor & fuel pump re-build kit; all From NAPA auto. I was pretty shocked when they had the fuel pump re-build kit on the shelf. I thought the motor was a 1979. Napa says it's a 1982 and that the points (2sets) and condensors are the same from 1979 thru 1982 or (3) can't remember which he said though I got em they work great till I forgot to tighten the flywheel correctly (if at all).
I tried to get the points/condensor from a place called Ed"s Marine a big boat store in Ashland. they ordered the wrong parts then didn't want to take them back when I saw they were wrong I had to go to management and they still didn't want to and I had to explain i didn't give you the wrong numbers, You said these are the parts I need and you were wrong in your order not me. If Not for NAPA showing me the parts in a "serria marine" book and how ED's ordered the worng parts one line above the correct ones I would have been out 30 bucks because of ED's no return policy! ED"S took them back then wanted to re-charge $ 10.00 more for each point replacement than NAPA Coulda sold me but ED"S said they could get me a day earlier so I went with them and almost all my money and received no parts even though it was their mistake and not mine. NAPA really saved me and has many marine parts books esp. Johnson Evinrude. If I ever have money to buy a new motor it will only be a Johnson/Evinrude esp. if I can still get patrs 30 yrs later!

strange indeed I keep getting all this different info. I did post the model and serial #'s and like I said I always though it was a 79 then gave those #'s to napa and they said 82. the points and condensor was the problem at the time till I forgot to tighten the flywheel almost ruined this great motor; not quite sure yet that i didn't ruin it have got to get the flwywheel then i'll kno. I sure hope it works as I just loved this motor on my little 14ft. fiberglass jon boat.
Thanks for the reply. Oh yea what is a power pack? is that what came out during and after points and condensors? I'll try to get a photo of it real sooon and post it for Y'all.
Tahnks again.

Something is wrong here. Your model code is wrong for one, "ON" equates to 1952 but "CN" would be 1982. However there was never any factory installed points & condensers in these 9.9/15hp Johnson/Evinrudes after 1976 when they went to electronic ignition in 1977.

However IF your model number would read E10SELCNS, this would relate to Evinrude, 9.9hp, Sailmaster (extra long shaft) Electic start, 1982, with a model revision of S as it left the factory. But many changes can happen between then & now.

In no way can I see how a parts supplier could come up with points & condensers for a E10SELONS model. If indeed you do have points & condensers, someone would have had to swaped total electronics (including flywheel), or a complete powerhead from a 1974-1976 motor onto your unit.

Hi I got photos. I also have the owners manual I printed from online 6 to 7 months ago. I also have a fuel rebuild kit. instructions I printed frm online. it does have points as u can see. I did get all the parts Thus far frm Napa who told me it was an 82 and not a 1979 they got me the points condensor from what I gave them and I installed the fuel pump rebuild kit and the points and condensors as well. I've only made one mistake thus far that would certainly confuse you'. The model is E10SELCNS: SERIAL #E0045538: IT said it downloaded all the photos. My owners manual title say Maintaining Johnson/Evinrude 9.9&15 hp. 2cycle outboards 1974-1992. Like you said it shows powerpack in a 74, power pack in a 77. but when I use the model number code INTRODUCES/1234567890 THE c & THE n IN THE MODEL # SAYS C=8/N=2 THUS YR. 82. AND NOW ALL YALL GoT ME REALLY CONFUSED AS WELL. I have all my parts receipts and this is how NAPA ordered those parts for me also showing me the parts in their catalog. I also have a return rope spring I've yet to put in and I have the flywheel sales saved in my favorites on the computer. the photos arent there let me see what I can do...
