Does anyone know what material the galley counter is on a 1982 Sea Ray 270. It is a solid color (cream) with moulded in sink and rolled front edge...all made from single piece. I think it is before Corian...but I have no idea what the material is.
Our counter has some small scratches in it and I am trying to find out if the material can be wet-sanded or rubbed out enough to bring all the shine back and remove most of the small scratches.
Thanks
Greg

I think those are cast acrylic polyester. There's a shop here called 'Island Marble' (Victoria) that makes some really neat stuff... custom as well. They have a website with quite a few pictures.
The answer to your question is yes, the scratches can be repaired. Those counters are cast in a mold then ground and polished.
Cheers!
