1982 25hp short shaft tiller

leaking fuel from carb air intake and motor wont start. motor was running perfectly until i took it out last night and found myself in this position. any ideas why the fuel is seemingly stuck in the carb and not getting in the motor?

sounds like the float may be stuck.take carb completely apart and clean it thorughly.

could the needle valve just be stuck. how does the float being stuck keep the fuel from the cylinders?

Stuck needle equals no gas in carb bowl so no gas to go to cylinders.

Needle can be stuck in either direction, open or closed.
The float is attached to the needle to control fuel flow.
