1981 suburu ignition

The wires aren't connecting when I turn the key. It's pretty ratty but I need it to get to work and back. I'm not all that mechanically inclined but I can do basic stuff. Anyone know how hard this is to do?

Maybe explain so we know what your taking about, is it your starter that's not turning the car over or you have no spark at plug wires

the ignition. from what I know, when you turn the key, it connects certain wires. These wires are not connecting. basically just the wiring behind the ignition. My dad did once and made it work for about three weeks but he's indian so I can't exactly use him as a recource.
