Hey guys,

Quick question before I put my LU back on, is the impeller suppose to be so snug inside of the housing that I am unable to spin the drive shaft when I mount the housing back on? When I'm holding the housing in my hand, and then insert the impeller into it, I can just BARLEY spin it in the direction its suppose to go. Is this normal?

Yep. Put some lube on it will make it easier. It will wash out when you start it anyway. Oil, Vaseline, grease, anti-freeze, ky jelly, probably all have been used often.

Well after taking a look at the impeller, that was not the problem of my overheating issues. I ended up hooking the hose directly up to the pickup tube and after about 5 minutes of full blast water pressure and dribbles coming from the pee hole, it finally SHOT out and now its got a good 5" stream coming out of it. I was reading another post, and I think I saw somebody mention that this is a bad idea as if there is any debris in the motor it is now further up.

Can somebody explain to me how to back flush this engine? Also I know this motor has a stator, but does it charge the battery or just keep the motor running? If it does charge, whats the output voltage suppose to be?

out put depends on if you have trim n tilt. there are 2 stators. the stator produces AC electricity to run the motor, the recitfier/regulator, converts the AC to DC to charge the battery. to back flush, remove the thermostats. it is a very frequent thing for kritters to make nest in the Tale Tell hose, blocking it. that is probably what you pushed out.
50 % of the motors i get, that the owner says it is not pumping, is a clogged TT hose.

I do not have a trim n tilt. What voltage should I be seeing at the battery when its at idle and/or 1500rpm?

around 13-14 volts. the system is designed just to maintain the starting battery. if you are going to have electronics, more than a fish finder, you need a house battery from them. this is covered in the electric's forum.
