This is a great site. I have received lots of good info on my 150 Johnson, which ate a piston.<br />While I am greasy, I might as well repair a little Evinrude which has been here a couple years too. I got it in a yard sale cheap. Runs great, but the lower unit oil is like pancake batter. Upon disassembling it, I found one very, very slightly pitted tooth on the pinion gear. The ring gear looks great, and the pinion was not failing, or broken. I just notied it when I was in there to re=seal it. Should I replace it, or just put it back together? They are very expensive, Thanks
