My lower unit died. Shop says 3k for a new one. Is the motor worth parting out? If so, any ideas on where to list the parts?

E J

Well, the rest of the motor worked good. Tilt & trim etc.. Shop said it needs new lower unit. The gears in the housing are bad....No I didn't hit anything, but the skeg on the motor was damaged by the previous owner who probably damged it. I live north of Dallas in Lewisville.

I'll look at e-bay and see if guys are selling parts for motors their.

E J

will a lower unit from 1979 dt65 fit your motor? i have a whole motor for you. $400.00. coil tests bad. clean motor not siezed, cranks with key, good comp. good lower unit,(could probably use new water pump kit), controls, brand new steering cable, steering wheel with rack-n-pinion gearing, 2 gas tanks, contact john at lobster@tds.net
