1981 25 hp Mercury Outboard spark plug type

Good Morning,

I was just trying to find out what spark plugs are required on my 1981 25hp tiller drive mercury outboard. I picked up a set from a Canadian Tire which their manual said i was to use but when I took the old ones out they were a different type. Old one was Champion L76V the new one I picked up was Champion QL78YC. Can you please let me know if the new one is okay to use. I didn't want the cylinder head to hit the top of that if it's not the correct one.

The plug Champion calls for from 80 to 02 is QL78YC or L78YC
