Fuel is getting to the fuel pump but not to the carburetor. Have tried two different pumps. First was a year old second is new. Neither seems to work. Engine will start and run momentarily with a squirt of starter fluid. Any suggestions? Motor was running fine a year ago.

dissconect fuel line to carb. Does fuel come through the line? If so then you probably have a stuck float

No fuel comes through the line. I have a clear fuel line to the carb - and no fuel comes into the line.

Fuel simply flows through the pump when you operate the primer bulb.-------Which way is the arrow pointing on the bulb ?

Disconnect the line from the carb and see what happens.

I disconnected the line and fuel does come thru - when the bulb is squeezed and when cranked ! Stuck float? If so what's my next step? I tried forcing fuel in to the carburetor with a syringe - no go. i am trying to get some "Mechanic in a Bottle" forced in but still no go.

Fuel comes thru when the line is disconnected - with the bulb and cranking the motor. I tried forcing fuel into the carb with a syringe - no luck. Also tried "Mechanic in a Bottle" no luck with that either. What next?

Take the carb off and repair it. Float is stuck in closed position.

Do I need to remove the flywheel to remove the carburetor? Because I can't get to one of the bolts right now.

No you do not need to take the flywheel off. You do need to remove the recoil starter to get the carb off.

Lift gently on the recoil as you loosen the bolt.----Do not remove the bolt from the assembly.----There is a washer inside that must stay in place.

^^+2. Hold it tightly together. A nut (5/16 or 3/8?) will hold the assembly together while working on the carb -- just dangle the assembly over the side of the pan. Might take a pic of the red plastic starter pawl and spring for reassembly.
