SEEMS TO BE A GAUGE ISSUE NOT A SENDER BUT COULD BE WRONG.
IT INTERMITTENTLY STICKS AT FULL TILT INDICATION, BUT SENDER IS DOWN WITH MOTOR. TAP ON GAUGE FRONT AND IT GOES TO CORRECT POSITION.
I JUST WONDER IF AS IT ONLY OCCURS AT IGNITION START (IF IGNITION IN ON POSITION BUT MOTOR NOT RUNNING INDICATION ALWAYS SEEMS TO BE CORRECT)IF IT COULD BE A SPIKE OR INTERFERANCE ISSUE UPSETTING THE GAUGE. HAVE JUST FITTED NEW RECTIFIER TO GET TACHO WORKING AGAIN. ANY HELP APPRECIATED.

It does sound like a gauge problem. If you can't find one locally at a reasonable price, I have a few left in stock which I'll discount. Contact at e-mail address below if interested.

During all my playing around to fix low rpm prob I have noticed that only it only occurs if motor is at full tilt when key moved to start position.
Is there a 12 volt source that only fires up at motor run? at the control box? figure this would prevent it being at full tilt when power applied.
