If you hold the plugs in your hands, the suggested Champion plug doesn't look much like the NGK plug. The throw is a little different and the heat range is obviously different. Why the recommend Champion plug is so dissimilar is a mystery to me, but I've found the Champion QL77JC4 is a close match and seems to operate identically to the recommended NGK plug. that said, the only reason to do so is if you can't get the NGK plug, or have a bunch of the others on hand for some other motor you happen to own...

The Champion plug has a tendency to foul out sooner then the NGK, so...You will save a little money and do a little bit less work with the NGK.

Hi, the reason I’m asking is because NGK sparks plugs are $12.99 a piece and champion are $1.89 a piece, I haven’t try Napa yet to see if they have NGK but I will check with them today. Here is the number I found so far for the plugs.

NGK- BR7HS-10
Champion- RL82C10

I got does number from a Clymer Tohatsu shop manual.
Do you know any other place beside Tohatsu Dealer, where I can get NGK sparks Plugs?
Thank you

Going rate from a marine dealer is $2.99 to $3.99 each. Most auto part stores have them for $2.00 to $2.25 and you can leave out the R in the NGK plugs and use B7HS-10

...I agree with Elvin... leave out the R. The R designates a resistor plug. It improves AM radio reception in some cases, but it costs more, it degrades the spark and shortens the life of the plug.
