Have twin screw (inboard) OMC 305's.
One engine, rebuilt in the early 90's, reads 80 psi.
Other engine (1980) reads 20 psi.

I'm assuming the higher psi reading is related to a higher capacity oil pump incorporated into the rebuild.

Either way, wondering what the oil pressure psi should read for a 990334C?

Re: 1980's OMC 305 (GM) Oil Pressure quandry

Ayuh,... Welcome Aboard,...

Standard rule of thumb for most Any motor, 'n especially for SBCs, is 10 lbs. per 1000 rpms...

Is that 20psi at Idle,..?? or Wot,..??

Btw,... Hi-capacity oil pumps are somewhere between a Waste of money, to downright Dangerous in boat motors...
A Hi-volume pump can Drain the base when spun too fast, fer too long...
The oil can't drain back quick enough...;)
