My 1980s Johnson 25 twin 2 stroke starts like a dream from cold and goes like a rocket on my 11ft Dell Quay Dory. The problem is - it won't start hot! I have to wait 30 - 40 minutes to allow it to cool. It is currently with an outboard engineer who has run it in his tank, started it hot and cold and swears there is nothing wrong! I did notice some arcing from one of the ignition packs which I cured by cleaning off and refitting but this did not cure it. I have lost confidence in the motor and need help to fix! When attempting to restart from hot there is no smell of petrol so I don't think it is flooding - I checked the plugs - they are nice and dry and clean.
