1980 suzuki dt8 prop

looking on suggestions on a new prop, the one i have is factory, planing is okay but i want one for a little more speed. motor is on a 14 foot jonboat and does pretty good now. just trying to outrun those elusive asian carp from jumping in my boat. lol. the only number on the prop i can find is 215 by 180. any thoughts? best prop for my app. thank you.

Motors do not come from the factory with props, cause no one knows what the motor will be put on and have to push.
you will need to find out what your prop is.

I had a 12 ft John boat with a 15hp many years ago, and I cannot think of a 8 hp pushing it with any speed.
find you a bigger motor

Small engine do come with props from the factory. In fact, all Suzuki's 30HP & below come with a prop. The op's prop is a 215mm x 180mm.

The only way to tell if the prop is correct is to connect a tachometer and see if the engine spins up to it's recommended maximum rated RPM.

Hardly worth it on an 8HP engine.

As you say, buy a bigger engine.
