thanks for looking. I have this 150 that I can not seem to find the right serial number for. The transom tag is 5341818 and comes back as what my title says 1980 mercury 150. If i use that number to buy parts every where says it is not a good number. So there is alot of different numbers on the block and the only one i have been able to find that looks like a serial number is 858-5485. the 8 in the begining could be a B but i dont think so. In all my reserch that number doesnt exist unless it really is a b instead of on 8 .The head casting #1026-5189, 79-280 goes to 150-200hp. the carbs are the old wh-2. Im just confused i would like to know what i really have and where to look for the right numbers. The 858-5485 or b58-5485 i found in between the starboard head and exaust plate down low by #6 cylinder. 6569 is on the starboard side on both the crankcase and cover. 12-218 5R is on the port side of the crank case. Any help would be appretiated. By the way this old motor rocks and rolls. Thanks again.
