Is this possible? I have this outboard but my boat is really old. I want to transfer motor to a new boat but would much rather have it in a tiller. Has anyone done it? Thanks

The conversion kit, if still available, is probably priced 4 to 5 times what a 38, almost 39 yr old motor is worth

Yes, but if i can get a part number or something i can keep an eye out for a used one. I dont really worry about how much my motor is worth because i dont plan on selling it. It still runs great

There are a number of options I think.-----Look at the parts diagrams for the manual start version 55 HP models in the 1980's.------Look at the 45 HP commercial versions of the 80's ' 90's to get the idea of what you need.----Also depends on your ability to fabricate a few pieces for shifting.----Your location ?
