1980 90hp merc inline 6

Hi, I have a merc that won't get up on plane.Starts fine,runs good until boat gets up to planing speed then cuts down to idle on and off.the more throttle the more it cuts out.I have replaced the fuel pump,changed tanks,checked timing,adjusted idle mix,tested trigger,even kicked it! Anyone have any idea's? Thanks,Timb

hmm, try some easy stuff first starting with fuel system and plugs<br /><br />is the primer bulb hard when you try to gun it and does pumping the bulb stop the problem? Is the bulb (and any filter) hooked up in the right flow direction? Check your fuel line carefully for kinks. Did you clean the fuel filter? Is it last year's gas? <br /><br />Are all 6 cylinders firing? You might not notice at idle. Try cleaning the plugs, then running it, then pulling and comparing them. Do any look clean/different from the rest?<br /><br />good luck
