1980 9.9

I have a 1980 evinrude 9.9 I am replacing the seal around the shaft behind the propeler in the bearing housingthe parts breakdown says its 2 peices
Any tips on how to get it out

You are probably better off just removing the bearing housing alltogether.....much easier with the propshaft out of the way......two bolts and an extra oring. There are two seals.....take note how they are installed when you remove them and reinstall the new ones the same way.

Already have housing removed how do you get the 2 seals out

If the bearing prevents you from tapping out from the inside with a punch/drift.....you will need to place the housing in a vice with protected jaws (timber or similar) outside face up, dont clamp it too hard its only aluminium.....if you have a small slide hammer that should work otherwise you will need to lever each seal out gradually working around the lip.
