1979 sea ray sedan

Im am looking at a 79 searay sedan 30 foot. This is one boat I know nothing about. (had bayliners)<br />how are these boats as for as how well they are built,stringer or rot problems, any place I should be looking out for? Any other info would be great.. Let me know if you like them or dont. Thanks Dan

Being it a 30ft Ill guess its twin inboard mercruiser. Is it a saltwater or freshwater boat.<br /><br />I would still suggest checking the engine mounting stringers, transom (especially around screws/bolts), around the head entrance, around hardware mounts, and check for staining around windows, they are known to leak. Look for loose screws (indicates hull flex) which is not good. <br /><br />That boat will have a lot of teak also, that means alot of up-keep. <br /><br />Be sure to test drive the boat in moderately rough water, if it shimmeys and shakes that is a good sign of structural damage i.e. rotten or broken stringers.<br /><br />Oh...BTW, welcome to iboats.
