1979 Mercury black max 150 wiring to stator/ recitfier

as i have been checking the motor over the last few days before my fishing season starts, ive replaced 2 ignition coils, all spark plug wires and spark plugs. motor seams to run pretty good as i got it out in the driveway yesterday to test it. today i was cleaning it up a bit a found some wires that have started to dry rot with some corrosion. these wires are the yellow/ red stripe wires going from the rectifier to the stator. my question is if i remove the flywheel can i just make new wires and screw them down? or is it more complicated than that. ive looked up the wiring diagram and there's not much detail about how they are attached to the stator, so any help would be appreciated.

nevermind, i was able to do some research today and found a replacement stator. its in the mail and i should get in on this weekend. wasnt aware that it was kinda all one piece.
