I have a 1979 80hp merc outboard. It starts fast with the pump of the bulb and a quick choke. I let it idle for a few mins, then advance the troddle and let it warm up a bit. Now I can leave the marina and i'm off on the river, everything is fine. Then if i kill the engine to get ready to tube or whatnot, and i startup i useully have to choke it to get started and it will idle ok, but when i put it in gear and go to take off it crapps out and dies. I have replaced the inner fuel line, the outer fuel line, the gas tank and the bulb. The inner fuel line was replaced by my local merc dealer. ehlp me please

If the motor consistantly boggs on acceleration, it sounds like the idle mixture is too lean. If it accelerates smoothly the first time, and boggs after that, I suspect some heat related ignition problem.
