Is it possible to have the muffs on the motor and have water coming out the pee hole and then not have water come out the pee hole while on the lake.?

Got into some heavy weeds on one trip and then noticed no water coming out the pee hole on the next trip. Took boat home , let her sit since june , last nite put muffs on , cranked her up and presto , water coming out the pee hole again.

It's always good when the Motor is peeing. It's not good when the motor is not peeing wether it's on the lake or on the Muff's.For your sake and the motors sake I would drop the lower unit check the water pump, and install a new impeller since it has sat for awhile.

The hose will push the water up to the pee hole from the pressure of the hose. X2 on droping the lower unit and check/replace the impellor.

Those telltales clog easily. A small piece of weed could have clogged it up. When you run it on the flusher, water will exit the grates above the antiventilation plate, and thru the prop. If you are on the lake and unsure whether the motor is pumping, remove the wrap cowl and pull the telltale hose off the elbow on the cylinder head water jacket cover. Water will pour out the elbow, if the motor is pumping properly.

BTW - If the motor runs hot at idle, you need to rebuild the waterpump.

Ditto on that, pull the hose and check it right at the engine first. If your not getting flow there, shut her down and replace impeller.
