I have two questions and hope someone can help me. I cannot locate the engine serial number, I have looked in the places shown in the manual but no luck. And second when running engine with mufflers it starts and idles great and goes into drive O.K. but when on the water as soon as I put it in drive it stalls out, advancing the throttle sometimes works without stalling but the transmission really suffers. Can anyone help ? Thanks

Sounds like a fuel delivery issue. I would suspect your low speed jet is clogged or need adjusting. The engine should run kinda "fat" (rich) when in neutral. Once you put it in gear, the extra fuel/power is needed to turn the prop.

Serial number should be on transom bracket, between the clamp screws.

Thanks for you input, unfortunately I was not able to try this fix as I had to winterise the boat. But first thing next year I will play with it.

I guess my engine was made up out of odd parts because I cannot locate the serial number, unless it is hidden by the transom. Thanks for answering my question.
