Hi Everyone, I have been reading everything I can in the forums and I am stuck. I have a 1978 55hp (55EL78S) Johnson that starts great and runs great at full throttle but after coming off of full throttle it idles down and then surges up to a high RPM and takes for ever to come down. Also bogs down after it warms up and I have to fight to give it throttle or it dies. Also when it is hot it starts up but if I move the throttle or put it in gear it stalls and takes 20 minutes to get it going. From the time I start it up it runs great but progressively worse the longer it runs to the point to where it don't run. I have rebuilt both carbs, cleaned the reed boxes, replaced the plugs, replaced all fuel lines and replaced the gas tank and supply line. All that I have done I read on the forums but now I'm stuck. Thanks for any help you can give.
