I felt this little girl was in need of her own thread. Great looking little boat will just need a real deep polish on the outside and a real good clean on the inside. The 65 Johnny needs to have a no spark issue tracked down and the supplied new water pump installed. The trailer is a brand new galvanized EZ Loader.

Great looking new rig! Hope it's a pain free spark problem on the OB.

Now, you've got small & medium tin covered, gotta add a biggin!

Those seats look like the marine version of a barcalounger... Nice & comfy :watermelon:

Congrats on the new acquisition

BTW: IMHO, as the current title holder & having just added another rig to the boat house, it falls to you to start the SOTY nominations thread.........

Thanks JB, as far as the big one goes she's gone I'm pretty sure I am going to stick with 18 and under, other than maybe a 22 Islander???

I was just thinking about the SOTY yesterday when the new owner of the 201 was asking about the award.

What a difference 10 years makes.
I have a '68 Falcon which from what I've read became the 14' Holiday. The covered bow looks look longer and if motor is within specs or just over it's a nice upgrade.

I'm rather partial to the 14's and 15's.... very nice rig there and great trailer!

Looking forward to seeing what you do with this one... I suppose the 18' is getting priority then???

The 18 is in for a complete, the 14 is just going to get a deep clean and polish and it will be up for sale. The Johnny needs a power pack and rectifier to get it up and running. Just waiting for the Brown truck for those though.

Very sharp little boat. Good luck getting the motor to fire up.

Glen your reminding me of a story I used to read to my kids.

The 22'er was toooooo big.

The 14'er was toooooo small.

The 18'er was just right.:joyous:

Yah... some of us keep more than one --- like woman having shoes that look the same but are for different outfits or different brands --- ... our version of shoe mbs is just slightly more expensive!

Shoes
Yuuuks, boats GOOOOD lol.

Figured out the no spark issue, rectifier and powerpack. They should be here next week so I will be able to fire her up. I have been working on the polish job an it is turning out pretty good. The paint on the bow deck is crazed really bad from something being spilled on it. The side of the hull have lots of road rash from gravel but it is shinning up real nice. The P/O included a water pump kit that I will install after I get her running. I also installed a tattle tail in the head so I could get a visual on the pump flow.

Jumping on the 14V5 bandwagon. She is a little cutie, should have no trouble finding a new home for her.

A very good idea installing the tell tale, it really takes some stones to start drilling into that power head.

Thanks Watermann, key word is little, the Admiral there is no way she would go out in her.
I read the how to on the tell tale three times and it still felt weird drilling that hole.

Re: 1978 Holiday 14' V5

Got my package of electrical goodies in the mail this morning, CDI Power Pack 3 and a Rectifier, installed the two components and we have
fire in the holes so to speak. It is forecast to be fairly warm here tomorrow so I will pull her out and fire her on the muffs. Will see if I can video it (Yikes)
