1978 Evinrude 25hp

Model# 25802C<br /><br />Just got this motor and a few problems. missing a few parts. Air silencer. Is this a biggie?? Throttle link that goes between the choke and throttle. i think that is my problem. Getting fuel to carb. Will start up rev high then die? Thanks for any help i get, Paul

Obviously someone took the carb apart trying to "fix" something so you now have a motor that has a mystery problem AND is missing pieces. It is impossible to make a motor run properly that's "missing a few parts". Get that carb put together properly, then go through the diagnosis and troubleshooting section of the manual.<br />Also, don't go spraying any starting fluid into the carb. You will wreck stuff. Starter fluid blows out reed valves, predetonates, and does all kinds of other terrible things to 2 stroke outboards.

Ordered the carb parts.... Already have a evinrude service manual for the motor. Cant get the air silencer. Will let ya know how it goes.. Thanks Paul
