Hello! New to the site here...Just got an offer to take on a bit of a project boat. Guy says its 25 foot and '78 Islander model. the engine has "145" on it with a v5 on the gunwhale. It does say Islander. My opening questions are did this boat in this configuration exist? Or has someone re-powered her with a smaller engine? maybe its not quite 25 ft? how much does this puppy weigh? worth putting on a new outdrive? and interior? Were there certain years that are undesirable? (AMF or the like)
I realize its a lighter boat than I have had (former boat was a 23 ft, 1970 Slickcraft...pre-AMF). Mostly gonna float around Lake Huron out of Alpena and maybe hop some of the local inland lakes.
