I had a customers doing some thing like this, it was a bad coil( dist ignition)
if yours is ADI (2 packs) check/disconnect mercury filled kill switch above packs. If this fixs it ,replace it...do not run with out ..safety issue!!!

earlier today it was around 60 or so and it started on the first crank. 2 hours later when temp dropped nothing.i put all new wires inside except for the stator.
this moter had set a year oe so recently before i bought it. could it just need ran to clean contacts in the switchbox or something?

Many electronic devices develop temperature related failure, bullet. Sounds like you have one of those.

You can confirm the trouble with a hair dryer. If it won't start, then you warm up the ignition system and it starts, guess what?
