Hi guys. I am replacing the water pump on my 35 OMC. I had to pull the driveshaft out (nothing holding it in) to get the impeller off the shaft. It was just stuck a little bit. When I dropped the driveshaft back in there seems to be a small amount of friction when I turn the driveshaft by hand, in neutral. When I lift up on the driveshaft and rotate it it's smooth. Am I being paranoid or when I pulled the driveshaft out could I have done something like moved a shim? Just want to ask before I run it or tear apart the lower unit for no reason. Thanks!

You're being paranoid. No shims in that gear case. When running the gears throw themselves away from each other.

Thanks Boobie. I just wanted to be sure before I slap it together.
