I BOUGHT A 1977 LARSON. It's a great old boat for 45 years old. The interior needs updating. I bought some new pedestal seats to replace the old dry-rotted seats but I am afraid to drill into the floor until I know where the gas tank is in relation to where I would have to install them. The boat has really nice carpet glued down and I really don't want to tear it up. Does anyone have any information on the location of the tank? A schematic/drawing? Any help would be appreciated.

The fuel tank in most boats of this type are located in the center section of the hull just forward of the engine. Take a look in the ski locker to see if there is a removable hatch which should show the fuel tank below. Otherwise, look forward from the engine compartment to see if the fuel tank is visible.

If the seats are dry rotted, perhaps some of the structure might be in similar condition. How is the floor? Any soft spots?
