1977 Larson 18ft w/4 cyl

Anybody know what size and hp merc would be common in a 1977 Larson 18ft open bow ? And if the previous owner pulled it out of the water and did not pull the drive up ,doing damage to the prop, is there more I should be worried about ? Says something is wrong with wiring. Thanks for any input...

Check for a serial number on the engine. Will be on a tag, you could also post some pictures of the engine. There is suppose to be a skegg on the bottom of the drive. It's job is to protect the prop, guess the last owner wiped out the skegg already.
