I recently repaired the shifter plunger in the foot of this motor, put it in the water and ran it for some time.Everything seems to be working great so my question is how much should I charge the guy for the work?Im not a certified marine mechanic but I am very interested in this type of work.Any approximate quotes would be appreciated.

How about cost of parts, dinner and a hand shake? Learning experience and a new friend. That is what I charge for something I am not in business to do. If you have it set in your mind that you want to be paid, keep in mind that it is taxable income and you may be held liable for any resulting problems connected to the repair. Call your local wrenches and get some quotes and average them.
Just my 2 cents.
Mike
;)
