1977 Johnson 25 horse serial #

I just purchased a 1977 Johnson 25 horse motor. The price was not too right not too wrong. There has to be additional markings besides the obvious serial number on the plate. Where might these be? I'd like to verify that they're the same.<br /><br />------------------<br />Bob Gibbons

3/4 inch round plug on top of cylinders.
