1977 Chrysler 10hp 100HA exhaust cover specs

Does anyone have torque specs and tightening sequence for the exhaust cover on this motor? I've replaced the 2 gaskets and plate once and its leaking on me. Should i use permatex?

Check for cover warping. Use a piece of glass or a similar hard surface, maybe your table saw. Permatex won't hurt. Torque bolts evenly.

I bought a new cover so it should be good but I'll check it.

If screws are 1/4-20 NC threads the torque would be 80 inch lbs.

criss-cross circular pattern starting from the inside. Half torque value on the first pass, full torque on the second pass.
