1977 AMF Puffer sailboat not seating on Tee Nee trailer properly

Just bought this boat/trailer combo and boat is not seated secure on the trailer. Afraid to haul it until I can improve the fit. Does anyone have any experience to share about this problem? The trailer co. no longer exists. The AMF Alcort Puffer is 12.6 ft long. Thanks, dianeden
