I can't get my motor to shut off when i turn the key in off position. I did mess with the wires some and i don't understand the wiring diagram all that well. I did mess with one wire (can't remember the color), but now it will not shut off. I feel like I completed a circuit or something. I need some help on this one please. I have to choke it to kill it.

There are two "M" connections on the ignition switch. One is a black ground wire coming from the engine, and the other is a black and yellow kill wire running to the power pack that is located top center between the cylinder banks on your motor.

When you turn the ignition key to "Off", the ignition switch closes the circuit of the two M posts, grounding the powerpack, and instantly stops the spark and thus the engine.

Find the black and yellow wire coming from the powerpack and trace it through the engine harness, the red plug, etc to the ignition switch. Test it with an ohmmeter. If you apply voltage to it, you will kill the powerpack.

Trace the ground wire through the harness etc to the engine, and make sure that it has a solid ground at the engine.

Wow....you described it just how it looks. I do remember accidently touching a wire to the metal in the command center and it blew the fuse located in the same area of the harness of wires. I replaced the fuse but didn't know what i had done wrong in the first place. If i killed the pack then what would be the next step?

You could see if the powerpack is injured by running a wire off the black and yellow at the powerpack and grounding it to the engine block with the engine running. If that does not stop the motor cold, then you have a bad powerpack. If it does stop the motor, you have a wiring problem.

If you shop the powerpacks, they are available from CDI, Sierra and BRP. I can personally vouch for the CDI and BRP/OMC units. The CDI powerpack 113-1731 can be purchased for as little as $88.20 USD. The Sierra powerpack, 18-5753 is similarly priced here at iboats:
