Throttle plates will not open or they open very little via the remote control. Engine goes into forward and reverse easily, but lacks power. I can barely back off of my trailer. Forward lacks power as well. Last boating season we skied behind it after I rebuilt the carbs, so I am confident that it is not a fuel restriction problem in the carb. This season it barely makes a wake. I have good compression, spark and a fresh carb rebuild. I did mess around with the control cables last season because I did not like the way it was going into gear and the length of travel to get to WOT. I feel that my problem is in the throttle cable or linkage. I have followed the directions in my SELCO manual with no luck. I want to replace the throttle cable and shift cable because they look like original equipment. I hate throwing parts at problems, but I am running out of talent and time. Any suggestions?
