1977 6 hp johnson waterpump

hi guys , need help , 77 6 hp johnson , fired it up and no water coming out pea hole , replace waterpump with new kit , put back together still no water, took apart to test it , put in bucket water turn shaft with drill , water pump worked , put back together no water , pulled thermostate , no water there , started for min. no water ,, im lost , please help

Did copper tube come out with the pump , yes or no ?----If it came out , it needs to be installed into the exhaust housing first.----And in a bucket the water MUST be 6" above the impeller.

Are you sure you put the key way or pin or whatever drives the impellor on that model in place.

yes , key is in place , will try it again

remove the gearcase...backflush the PW with air compressor to see if air flows freely back out the water tube. try air pressure from the pee hole and thermostat

have you try passing a mono line up the pee hole ?

did you have any missing fins on the impeller when you replaced it ?

did you change or work on the base gasket for any reason ?

check pump housing purge holes ...

Sounds like an assembly mistake also check your vermitherm.

Maybe vermitherm = thermostat ?

I assumed PW was supposed to be PH but when I looked at the keep pad I saw the two letters were no where near so I was like maybe it's something I don't have a clue about?
